Dan Alvarez is an Electronic Engineer specializing in embedded systems and space technology development. He participated in the design of the attitude determination and control system (ADCS) and the ground station for QUETZAL-1, Guatemala’s first satellite. He currently advises the development of QUETZAL-2, contributing to the ADCS and communications subsystems.

He is an embedded systems developer at Aerobots, where he leads hardware and firmware design for industrial and agricultural solutions. He also collaborates with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as an international consultant in immunization data analysis and visualization, promoting the use of the R programming language in the region’s ministries of health.

Passionate about space and open-source hardware, he integrates engineering, data science, and technological innovation to drive projects with social and scientific impact.
